Community Awards
At a prestigious awards gala held in Burlington, MA on March 13, 2026, The New England Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI-NE) officially announced that Southport on Cape Cod was selected as the winner the Community Association of the Year in the large community category.
Nominated by its management agent, The Dartmouth Group, Southport emerged as the leader among eligible communities. The award recognizes excellence in community operations, but more importantly, in selecting Southport it celebrated the unique culture of collaboration and neighborliness that defines the Southport experience.
“For its outstanding amenities, its commitment to wellness and social engagement, its exceptional management, and its remarkable spirit of community involvement and volunteerism, Southport on Cape Cod is an ideal and deserving choice,” the nomination stated.
In granting the award, CAI acknowledged that residents do not simply live at Southport; they actively participate in in all aspects of the community. As was shared by the award presenter:
“What truly sets Southport apart is its culture — one of collaboration, leadership, creativity, and genuine neighborliness. Residents do not simply live at Southport; they actively participate in shaping and sustaining it.”
With over 74 million Americans living in community associations nationwide, this recognition places Southport at the pinnacle of residential excellence. For the 1200+ residents who call Southport home, the award validates a long-standing commitment to a vibrant, social, and well-managed lifestyle.
